Bear & Chewy

We got these adorable middle aged/senior chihuahua brothers today. You probably recognize them from our post, maybe 2 months ago. They were at Hempstead Shelter, and we were trying to find a foster so we could rescue them. They ended up being adopted by a private citizen who is also a rescuer, and we hoped that that meant they would get the best of everything. Well, a few days ago, this person was brought up on charges of animal cruelty, for allegedly having over 200 animals in desperate conditions. When we learned of this, our hearts sank. Thankfully, Hempstead Shelter was able to get these boys back, and today they officially became FOF dogs.

CHEWY has diabetes, so he will need careful medical supervision, and, of course, we will do a thorough medical evaluation of both boys.

They are really, really sweet, and we hope that in a somewhat short time, we can find them their true happily ever after. If you are able, we would appreciate donations, especially at this time. Our medical bills have been super high lately, having so many dogs and cats, including many special cases and surgeries.
