Welcome DIXIE, fka NANA from Hempstead Shelter! This poor tiny (9lb) mini dachshund was abandoned at a vet hospital and found a safe haven at the shelter. She is definitely a senior; her age will be updated after the vet visit.
Dixie is A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E! She has good energy and a great appetite for a senior, and she seems fine with other dogs.
Dixie loves to burrow in blankets and nuzzle into you for snuggles. Once we get her to our vet later this week, we will start looking for her forever home.
Surely a great family has some room in their home and hearts for this lady.
